WUB Textile Legends Become Undefeated Champions of TFCL 2026

Textile Legends, representing Batches 66/A and 67/A of the Department of Textile Engineering at World University of Bangladesh (WUB), emerged as the undefeated champions of the Textile & Fashion Cricket League (TFCL) 2026, defeating Fashion Furious in the grand finale to lift the championship trophy.

The two-day tournament was organized by the WUB Textile Club and WUB Fashion Club under the Department of Textile Engineering and Fashion Design on September 25 and 26, 2026, at the WUB Campus Ground in Uttara. The tournament brought together students in a vibrant display of competitive spirit, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship.

Textile Legends qualified as the Group B champions and maintained their unbeaten run throughout the tournament before securing victory in the grand finale. The championship-winning team was led by Captain Rakibul Hasan Shawon, Vice-Captain HA Hafijul Islam, and Team Manager Sayman Tamal.

Fashion Furious finished second in Group B and advanced to the grand finale, ultimately securing the runner-up position. Led by Captain Habib Mia and Vice-Captain Naim Shahriar, the team demonstrated strong teamwork, determination and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Robiul Hassan was recognized as the Game Changer of the Final for his crucial contribution to the championship match, while Shakil Khan was also recognized for his outstanding performance in the final.

The prize-giving ceremony was held at the conclusion of the tournament in the presence of Md. Kamrul Hossain; A. N. M. Ahsan Thouhid, Joint Registrar, WUB; Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Textile Engineering and Fashion Design; and faculty members of the department.

The Department of Textile Engineering and Fashion Design congratulated Textile Legends on their championship and Fashion Furious on securing the runner-up position. The department also expressed appreciation to all participating students, organizers, faculty members and supporters whose collective efforts contributed to the successful completion of TFCL 2026.
