WUB Organizes Environmental Rally and Tree Plantation Program under SDG 15

The Department of Textile Engineering & Fashion Design and the Environmental Education Cell of World University of Bangladesh (WUB) jointly organized an environmental rally and tree plantation program under the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15: Life on Land initiative on October 17, 2026.

Students from different departments of the university participated in the rally, which paraded around the WUB campus to promote awareness of environmental conservation and sustainability. The rally was led by Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Head of the Department of Textile Engineering & Fashion Design.

Following the rally, a tree plantation program was conducted across different areas of the university campus. Faculty members of the Department of Textile Engineering & Fashion Design, along with students participating in the Green Ambassador Training program, planted various saplings to contribute to a greener and healthier campus environment.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness among students about environmental protection, climate change, and the importance of preserving natural resources. It also encouraged students to take an active role in creating a clean, green, and sustainable campus. The organizers highlighted the vital role of trees in maintaining ecological balance, reducing pollution, and ensuring a healthier environment for future generations.

Speakers at the program emphasized the importance of environmental responsibility, particularly for students of textile engineering and fashion design, considering the textile and fashion industry's close connection with environmental sustainability. They encouraged participants to extend the message of tree plantation and environmental care to their families and communities.

The participants expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, reaffirming their commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable practices. The university authorities expressed their intention to continue organizing similar initiatives to strengthen environmental awareness and promote a culture of sustainability across the WUB community.
