Biography
Md. Riazur Rahman is an academic and researcher specializing in advanced textile engineering and material science. Currently serving as a Lecturer of Dept. of Textile Engineering at the World University of Bangladesh, he combines a passion for pedagogy with a rigorous focus on the mechanics of high-performance materials. Riazur Rahman holds a Master of Science in Textile Engineering from the Zhongyuan University of Technology in China, where he graduated with distinction. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science from Daffodil International University in Dhaka. His professional background bridges the gap between industrial application and theoretical research; prior to his current role, he served as a Foreign Lecturer at Zhongyuan University of Technology and gained practical industry experience as a Shift Engineer at Sister Denim Composite Ltd. (Thermax Group) and Production Officer of Sinha Denim & Rope Denim Ltd. His primary research interests lie in the failure mechanisms of modern flexible armor systems. Riazur has conducted extensive studies on woven aramids and ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), investigating the critical relationships between yarn geometry, ply orientation, and ballistic performance. He is proficient in numerical modeling and simulation using ABAQUS CAE, Python, and R, allowing him to analyze complex deformation mechanisms and energy absorption properties. Riazur Rahman is an active contributor to the scientific community, with publications in respected journals such as the Journal of Industrial Textiles, Textile Research Journal, and Mechanics of Materials. His work often explores the nuances of inter-yarn friction and nanomaterial-reinforced composites to enhance protective textiles.
