Biography
Badhon Baria is a fashion designer, textile researcher, and academic specializing in sustainable fashion practices, digital design, and apparel product development. He is currently serving as a Lecturer and Coordinator in the Department of Fashion Design & Apparel Technology at the World University of Bangladesh. He previously taught at R.P. Shaha University and has gained professional experience as a designer with Motex Fashion & Sourcing and as a trainee at Beximco Industrial Park.
Badhon earned his B.Sc. in Fashion Design & Apparel Engineering from the National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER), University of Dhaka, graduating with distinction (CGPA 3.78/4.00). His research focuses on zero-waste garment production, 3D apparel sampling, and sustainable material innovations. He has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications, including in the Textile Research Journal and other international outlets, and has presented at international conferences.
His technical expertise bridges fashion and digital graphics, with proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, CLO 3D, Lectra Modaris, and CAD applications for apparel. Alongside academic research, he has pursued certifications in sustainable fashion, graphic design, photography, and business intelligence, enhancing his interdisciplinary approach. Beyond research and teaching, Badhon has led cultural and creative organizations, serving as President of the NITER Film & Photographic Society and Senior Executive of the NITER Cultural Club. His work reflects a commitment to integrating design creativity with sustainability and technology for the future of the fashion industry.
