Program Overview

The Department of Textile Engineering at World University of Bangladesh (WUB) introduced the B.Sc. in Apparel Manufacturing Engineering to meet the growing demand for engineers who can optimize, automate, and manage complex garment production systems. Launched as a specialized track within our pioneering textile engineering department, this program uniquely blends industrial engineering principles with apparel technology.

Unlike general textile programs, this degree focuses exclusively on garment manufacturing — covering production planning, line balancing, factory automation, lean manufacturing, quality systems, and cost optimization. Graduates are equipped to lead Bangladesh’s $50+ billion Ready-Made Garment (RMG) sector into the era of Industry 4.0.

As of December 2023, over 1,200 graduates from our textile programs are employed in top-tier factories, global brands, buying houses, and tech-driven apparel startups. Many alumni hold leadership roles in production, industrial engineering, and automation departments — while others have pursued advanced degrees abroad.

Our faculty includes industry veterans and researchers publishing in international journals on topics like smart garment manufacturing, sustainable production, and digital twin modeling for apparel lines.

With around 350 students currently enrolled across our textile programs, you’ll join a vibrant community with access to cutting-edge labs, industry internships, and mentorship from professionals shaping the future of global apparel manufacturing.
